Electrical safety is important regardless of the industry you work in even if you are not an electrician or someone whose job specifically relates to electrical work. If your work involves any work with electrical equipment, then it is important that you understand the principles of electrical safety.

This course is therefore for anyone whose work includes the use of electrical equipment to allow you to recognise potential faults and act accordingly, understand the laws that govern the use of electrical equipment and how they relate to you, and how to act in the event of an emergency.

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Identify common appliances and the classes of insulated appliances
  • List the common types of electrical injuries
  • Act appropriately in an emergency
  • Explain how to comply with electrical safety legislation and regulation

You must pass the assessment at the end of the course to receive your certificate.
